That Which Remains
That Which Remains pays tribute to the poetic language of the mountains, weaving together the intimacy of personal history with the endurance of geological time. Rooted in the artist’s formative years in Patagonia, the work reflects a lifelong connection to the mountain landscape as both subject and guide. Memory and family archives intertwine with the mountain’s own slow transformations: erosion, seasonal changes, chaos, and renewal.
Drawing from analog film, the book weaves together fragments that speak to permanence and transience — the fleeting span of human life set against the endurance of the earth. It is at once a meditation on continuity and loss, and an invitation to listen to the mountain as a living archive.
Published in collaboration with Bona Fide Press and produced with a Fellowship Grant from the City of Aspen, this limited edition brings together original photography in a carefully crafted object. The hardcover handbound book includes an inset screenprinted accordion book titled From the Inside that represents the only perspective that is not present in the rest of the book — that of the mountain looking back at us.
